Velvet, sculpted shoulders and gold work. Royale is dressed for the woman who is the occasion.

Royale draws on ceremonial dress — the language of thrones, of aso-ebi worn as a statement rather than a uniform — and rebuilds it for a modern body.

Shoulders are cut sharp and shaped by hand-padded canvas. Bodices are built in three layers so the silhouette holds through a full night.

Deep burgundy, obsidian, imperial green. Gold embroidery worked in traditional motifs, redrawn.
